Healthy Planet / Healthy Me

Hello to the Hamlyn Views School community!

My name is Chris Vine and I am delighted to be working at Hamlyn Views as the Healthy Planet, Healthy Me teacher. I am originally from the UK but have lived in Australia for over 20 years. I enjoy playing the guitar and listening to music and watching and playing soccer. I have been teaching for 15 years and have three children. I look forward to getting to know all the students at Hamlyn Views and teaching Healthy Planet, Healthy Me.

Healthy Planet, Healthy Me is a new subject at Hamlyn Views School. I am delighted to introduce this program dedicated to improving students’ understanding of their health and our planet's health.

During our lessons, the students and I will explore how to make healthy food choices, healthy and safe choices around school and the community, and how we can look after our planet more.

This term has mainly been about the students and me getting to know each other. We are also planting seeds and reinvigorating our school veggie garden.

Currently, we are using Woolworths gardening seeds from a few years ago to create seedlings to plant.

If you would like to get involved in maintaining and caring for our school garden we would be very grateful. Please see our volunteer page of this newsletter then call the school and let us know of your interest and I will be in contact to discuss ideas and options.

There will also be a working bee in the near future so please keep an eye out for further information.

Thank you, Chris
