Religious Education

Recently some of our Year 2 and Year 5 students began their preparation for receiving their Sacrament of Reconciliation. This Sacrament is one of healing and allows us to reflect on times when we have missed the mark and provides an opportunity to ask for God’s forgiveness. The Sacrament goes by many names: Penance, Reconciliation and Forgiveness. Generally young children are ready to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation when they appreciate what it is to be forgiven. This is learnt in the home as at this stage it is primarily in the context of family life that the concept of forgiveness is experienced. During their preparation the children will learn and develop a deeper understanding of being forgiven and the importance of knowing, how and when to forgive.

During the season of lent we are asked to make a donation to Caritas Australia Project Compassion Appeal. Through your generous donations Caritas Australia, the Catholic Agency for International Aid and Development, works with local communities around the world to end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity. Please give generously to Caritas Australia this Lenten season and help vulnerable people around the world, now and for all future generations

With your support, Caritas Australia has been able to assist communities around the world through income generation, water and sanitation, food security, education and disaster risk reduction programs.

You can donate through Project Compassion donation boxes placed in each classroom and at the front office.
