Parent Calendar update

We apologise for the function of the parent calendar. The Department of Education is currently going through a process of transferring all schools from school-run platforms onto department-run platforms. This is part of the Securing Connected Learners process, which is a massive project running over the next 4 years.

Unfortunately, there are a range of functionality issues we are experiencing with different platforms as we change from one to the other.

Parents reported that the events were showing up only as Free/Busy with no event details. Obviously a bit useless.

In this issue, I have updated the calendar link and transferred the events to a different google calendar so that you can actually see the event details.

Again, we apologise for the false start but encourage you to give it another try. Any further issues, please let me know.

Fundraising

Thank you so much to the PFA for their efforts in collaborating with our Health and Wellbeing Team to organise and promote the Colour Splash and Friendship Day.

There are two areas that PFA have requested support from parents:

  1. Register through Compass for $10 to help cover the costs of running the event. Students go into the running for some special registration prizes of Giant Squishmellows and Holey Moley vouchers.
  2. Encourage friends, family and neighbours to support your child's school and donate through the mycause page. Donate to your child's class and the top-fundraising classes will win special prizes to enjoy.

Past PFA fundraising efforts have helped to provide air conditioning for our classrooms, the all-weather oval and the playspaces our kids love to play on.

In 2024, we are hoping to raise enough funds to significantly update our reading selection for students to complement our wonderful reading program. Additional take-home and classroom texts are planned for purchase across the school and new books for the junior and senior library, too!

In total, we have raised over $5,000 so far but there is still time to go!
