From the

Leadership Team

The 2023 academic year is rapidly coming to a close. The college is a hive of activity as final assessments are being completed in the middle school and the Senior school has already moved into 2024 in the Early Commencement program. Our VCE and VCAL students have completed their final year of schooling and celebrated at the Valedictory assembly and Dinner on Tuesday night. Over the last two weeks Year 10 and 11 exams have been completed and Structured Workplace Learning has been undertaken by VCAL students.

Valedictory Assembly and Dinner

On Tuesday 21st the Valedictory Assembly was held in the gymnasium. The gym was full, with parents and friends celebrating the completion of Year 12 with the school community. Each of the Year 12 students were presented with a certificate recognising their achievement and a small memento of their time at GSSC. The talents of several students were showcased in musical performances throughout the program. The graduating class then travelled to the GV Hotel for a celebratory dinner with staff. Student led formalities were a highlight of the evening.

We wish each and every one of them the very best in their future endeavours.

2024 student programs

Planning for 2024 has been underway for several months. Student programs for the 2024 academic year are being finalised and distributed to students. This is a complicated process which can rapidly change due to factors such as staffing and student interest.

Year 7 2024 Transition

It has been a busy period recently as our future 2024 Year 7 students get a taste of what is to come.

Students from all of our feeder schools have had an opportunity to get to know some of the GSSC staff and develop some familiarity with the College layout.

The state wide transition day falls on the second Tuesday of December each year, this year being the 12th of December. We are looking forward to seeing our Year 7’s together for the first time. It is an exciting time for staff and students.

House Captains, Values leaders, Environmental Leaders, Multicultural Leaders, First Nations Leaders and Music Leader will be presented to the college at our final Assembly on Friday December the 1st.
