Education in Faith

Faith, Family, Friendship

At Holy Spirit, we respectfully acknowledge the Wurundjeri people and their Elders past and present, who are the Traditional Custodians of the land on which Holy Spirit Community School is located.

Advent - week two

Advent God,

Show us the way to be a light to all in need.

Help us to live and be God’s Dream of hope, peace, joy and love for all people.

As we wait and anticipate the birth of Jesus, come to us and fill our hearts with hope.

This we ask through Jesus Christ the light of the world.

Amen.

Mass Reminders

Our goal this year is to to create a peaceful and respectful atmosphere during our church services, ensuring that everyone can focus on their spiritual experience. To help with this, we kindly request your cooperation when entering the church:

  1. Please enter the church quietly, so as not to disturb those already in prayer or reflection. This will also encourage our students to enter our church in the same way.
  2. We encourage you to engage in quiet conversation, in designated areas outside our church, if needed.
  3. For the comfort and cleanliness of our sacred space, we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing coffee or other beverages into the church.

Your support in maintaining a serene and respectful environment is greatly appreciated. We believe that these small gestures will contribute to a more meaningful worship experience for all.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Upcoming Dates:

  • End of Year Mass: Wednesday 13th December, 9:15am
  • Year 6 Graduation Mass: Thursday 14th December, 5:00pm

Thank you for a wonderful year. Your support while I took on the RE role was incredible. Corinne Davis joins our staff next year as tour RE Leader (curriculum). It will be great to have her back working with us all again.

Thank you for a wonderful 2023.

Have a wonderful holiday break! Stay safe, safe travels and Merry Christmas.

PARISH NEWS

And we come to the end of another school year in 2023.  It has been a very productive year with Reconciliations, First Eucharists, Confirmations and of course Baptisms, school masses and other school/parish activities.

Mass times for Christmas are advertised in The Word, on a billboard at the front of our property and a poster on the Church door.  We are always looking for helpers for our Christmas Masses.  There are sign up sheets in the Church foyer where you can add your name, nominated mass time and what role you would like to undertake.

Next Wednesday 13th December at 9.15 am in the Church, there will be a whole school mass to celebrate the past year with children, staff and families.  All are welcome to attend.

We also say farewell to our Grade 6 children with a Graduation Mass on Thursday 14th December at 5.00 pm.  We send our love and wish all our Grade 6 children the very best for next year as they move onto Secondary School.  We hope that your primary school years hold very fond and happy memories for you all and may the friendships you have formed remain close to your hearts for many years.

On behalf of Father Arsenio and the Parish House Team, may all our school families have a very Happy, Holy and Safe Christmas holiday time.  We look forward to working with you all again in 2024 and of course we will welcome our Prep children and any other new families to our Community.  May God’s blessings be upon you all.

The child will be holy and will be called Son of God …. For nothing is impossible to God (Luke 1:35,37)

Holy Spirit is a child safe Parish.  We hold the care, safety and well being of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of our Parish.
