P&C News
The School Cricket Nets were officially opened the second week of this term. The students have been putting them to good use during recess and lunchtime breaks, during Sport and PDHPE sessions, along with Glen Innes Junior Cricket using them on Thursday afternoon for their community cricket sessions. The nets were a collaborative project with Cricket NSW, Glen Innes Junior Cricket , the GIHS P&C, and the Department of Education Assets department.
Year 12 of 2024 has now received the jerseys that the P&C supported. All the best for the last year at GIHS.
Looking forward into 2024 the P&C hopes to finish the Old Hall Performance Centre project with curtains, lighting, and the Baby Grand Piano. We were able to secure some funding from White Rock for this. There have also been initial discussions about forming an Enrichments Tree Project.
The first meeting of 2024 for the GIHS P&C will be Tuesday 5 March at 6 pm. All parents, and community members are welcome to attend to be part of the collaborative projects and future ideas. It will start with the AGM; however, only existing members can be nominated for positions. At this meeting, the Principal, Mr Forrester, will be presenting The Strategic Improvement Plan (SIP). This is a working document that details the steps GIHS will take to improve learning outcomes and the achievement and growth of all students.
