Aurora College Debating Team
In a resounding success for the Aurora College Debating Team, congratulations are in order! The girls, Ella, Sophie, Matilda, and Grace, showcased their exceptional debating skills in the Year 7 & 8 Knockout against Smiths Hill High School.
The battleground for this intellectual clash was none other than the controversial topic of "banning all sports involving animals." Tasked with arguing the negative case, our debaters faced the formidable challenge presented by Smith's Hill. It was a close contest, with both teams displaying commendable rhetorical prowess.
Our talented students rose to the occasion, organizing their ideas with precision and delivering thoughtful, well-characterized arguments. Their ability to articulate complex points of view with clarity and conviction was a testament to their dedication and preparation.
Despite the tough opposition from Smith's Hill, our debaters navigated the debate with grace and intelligence. The competition was fierce, and the spirited exchange of ideas made for an engaging and intellectually stimulating event.
Now, with this impressive victory under their belts, the Aurora College Debating Team is setting its sights on the next challenge—the NSW State Finals! The journey doesn't end here; it only marks the beginning of a new chapter for these talented individuals.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the girls and commend them for their hard work, resilience, and intellectual prowess. The entire school community is proud of their achievements, and we eagerly anticipate their performance in the upcoming State Finals.
As Head Teacher of English, Marnie Etheridge, aptly puts it, "Congratulations, girls. WOW Grace! Next stop - NSW State Finals!!" We wish the Aurora College Debating Team the very best as they continue to shine on the debating stage, representing our school with distinction and eloquence.
