Dear Brookside Families,
We are excited to share with you an update on our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework, aimed at fostering a positive and supportive environment for all members of our school community.
The primary goal of SWPBS is to establish a common framework for teaching and reinforcing positive behaviours throughout the school. Through this program, we aim to create a school culture where every student feels valued, respected, and safe, enabling them to thrive academically and socially.
As part of our SWPBS initiative, we have recently updated our new SWPBS matrix outlining our school-wide expectations in line with our college values of Rights, Respect, Relationships and Resilience. This matrix serves as a guide for students, staff, and families, clearly defining the behaviours we expect in various settings across the school. We encourage families to familiarise themselves with the matrix to support consistent expectations both at school and at home.
We are also excited to report that our school acknowledgment system, which rewards students for demonstrating expected behaviours, has been highly successful. Many students have received 4R Superstar Awards for their outstanding behaviour. These awards come with Brookside Bucks, which students can save up and spend at the upcoming SWPBS shop, scheduled to run on the 26th of March.
We appreciate your ongoing support in reinforcing positive behaviours at home and encourage you to engage with us in promoting a positive school culture through SWPBS. Together, we can continue to create a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for all our students.
Best regards,
The Engagement and Wellbeing team
