Around the College
Lest We Forget
Through His death on the Cross, Christ sacrificed Himself for us, so that we would not perish, but have eternal life through Him. Imitating His sacrifice, our service men and women have followed in the path of Christ, making the ultimate sacrifice laying down their lives in service to this country, in service of peace and in service of others.
Anzac Day Services
College house leaders Matisse O'Brien and Charli Guppy attended the Anzac ceremony in Shepparton to lay a wreath on behalf of the St Anne's College community. Congratulations to these school leaders for representing the school and paying tribute to those who sacrificed so much.
Staff member Jo Wall also volunteered on Anzac Day, supporting Kensington Gardens Lifestyle Village with their Dawn Service.
"I was honoured to be asked as an ex-service person to lower the flag yesterday at Kensington Gardens Lifestyle Village Dawn Service. I also volunteer to sell Anzac badges and Poppies for Remembrance Day. This Anzac Appeal at Riverside Gardens Shopping Centre, we raised just over $9000 which will go towards assisting the families and ex-service personnel with housing, medical and anything else they require."

Anzac Day Activities
To pay tribute to Anzac Day, SOW students participated in an array of activities. More information on this can be found in the SOW report under Year 1 and 2.
Community Action Team (CAT) in action!
By students Lillian and Talia
We're thrilled to share the results of our recent fundraising initiative organised by the Community Action Team.
With a focus on supporting Caritas, we launched a campaign centred around selling Zooper Doopers. In addition to this, we introduced incentives for free Zooper Doopers such as exchanging a bucket of rubbish for a free treat and hosting games where winners received one too.
The response was overwhelmingly positive, resulting in a total profit of $2,660.75, which constitutes half of the total donation, which was made alongside other school initiatives by other groups/organisers, to Caritas.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in and supported this initiative.
Bangarra Dance Rekindling Program
This incredible youth program continued last week with three days of dance rehearsals.
Three St Anne’s College students have been attending the program and rehearsals have been taking place throughout April and May.
We are looking forward to the final performance which is being held on May 10. Please note, the performance will be recorded and a video of the whole Shepparton program is being produced. These will be shared with the St Anne’s College community in future editions of il giornale.
More information about the project can be found via: https://www.bangarra.com.au/community/rekindling-youth-program/
Rehearsals begin for 'Into the Woods'
Things are shaping up as rehearsals got underway for the college’s 2024 production ‘Into the Woods’ last week. We were incredibly excited to announce the cast in the last edition of il giornale for the musical.
The performance centres on a baker and his wife who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever.
Stay tuned for regular updates as we journey deeper ‘Into the Woods’.
Fire Education Session
Foundation students listened with admiration as our local firefighters delivered a very informative Fire Education session this week. Find more information and photos from the session in the SOW report in the Foundation section.
Stage 3A construction works progressing
After much preparation work, the new build is starting to take shape with the foundation (concrete slab) being poured in two stages which began this week.
The College has also started to receive deliveries of galvanised steel which will be used as the material for the important structural works of the new build.
We have been focused on ensuring the safe arrival of concrete and materials at the site during this time. Thank you to families for their understanding while there has been increased activity in the carpark.
