Year Three
This week in Year Three, our students had the opportunity to experience changes that have occurred in the planet we call home, Earth. For our unit of inquiry ‘How the World Works’, we went to explore the Melbourne Museum, focusing on how the Earth has formed and how it has changed over time. We went to four exhibits: Dinosaur walk, 600 Million Years, Dynamic Earths, and the Forest Gallery. We went to IMAX Melbourne and learnt all about how the world was created by supernova stars and how rocks all over the world hold the secrets of how our Earth has changed over time. We also looked at the features of earth that make it perfect for us as humans to live.
It was wonderful to see students demonstrate responsible and respectful behaviour on the bus ride and throughout the museum. This fantastic excursion enriches students' understanding of the world but also fosters important qualities like curiosity and respect for historical information and knowledge.
A special thank you to the parents and preservice teachers for their involvement and support during the excursion.
