Years F/1
It feels like the weeks are rolling by so quickly as we are so busy learning. I want to mention how incredibly proud I am of these little superstars for showing such a positive attitude during cross country. They all got out there and gave it there all and I could not be prouder of them. In the classroom, it has been much the same this week. They have continued to give their all and have done a fantastic job working on adjectives and nouns. They are becoming more confident at identifying words that are adjectives and using them in sentences. Below are some photos of who, what, when, and where questions students have asked from pictures.
In maths, we took one of our lessons outside and some students got to instruct the rest of the class on where to go. For example “3 steps left, 2 steps forward”. As we are working on location this was building the student's understanding of left, right, forwards, backward, over, and under. They had great fun and they were all eager to stand out the front to tell the rest of the class the directions.
In science, we were experimenting with scrunching up cling wrap, paper towel, and alfoil. We scrunched all items observed what they looked like and left them for 10 minutes, when students went back they noticed that something that was scrunched to the smallest, no longer was. They could have come home that day practicing to scrunch other items.
