Principal's Report

Issue No 10 - 17 April 2024

Term 2 - Week 1

Principal’s Report

Welcome back for another wonderful term at St Kilian’s Primary School!

School Cross Country

Today we enjoyed our annual School Cross Country.  Thank you, Mrs Vaughan, for her preparation and to the wonderful parents and friends who helped with official duties.

Legacy's 92nd Annual ANZAC Commemoration Ceremony for Students

This Friday 19 April our Grade 6 students will participate in the Legacy's 92nd Annual ANZAC Commemoration Ceremony for Students at the Shrine of Remembrance, Melbourne.  This special commemoration service honours Australia's brave service men and women through the eyes of the young, with student guest speakers, school bands and Defence Force cadets, dignitaries and an RAAF fly-over.  This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to participate in this commemorative event.

State Swimming and Diving

On Friday 19 April Abby Colt will be competing in the State Swimming in 50 m Breaststroke. We wish her well.

On Monday 22nd April William Everton will be competing in the State Diving. We also wish him well.

Tuckshop News

Our Tuckshop will be closed until a new person has been appointed as Tuckshop/Uniform Manager.

School Uniform - Winter Uniform Transition

With the beginning of Term 2 comes the transition from summer to winter school uniform. I ask that all students wear the correct winter school uniform by the start of week three of the term. New and second hand uniforms are available from the clothing store for those families who need to purchase them. I thank the parents for their support in ensuring all students are wearing the correct school uniform and not wearing jewellery and/or items of clothing that are not part of the school uniform.

Uniform Purchases

Please continue to purchase Uniform items via QKR. These will be filled on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

If you require a ‘try on’ opportunity, the uniform shop will be open Thursday 18th April 8:30 am - 9 & Tuesday 23rd April 8:30 am - 9 am.  Thank you to Lara who will be filling orders until a Tuckshop/Uniform Manager is appointed.

ANZAC Day

On Thursday 25th April as Australians, we honour all of the men and women who have participated in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations around the world, including the ANZACs who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I, as part of the ANZAC Day celebrations. Through dawn services and commemoration events throughout Australia and the world, we remember and give thanks to all of the fallen who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and peace we experience today.

Next Thursday during the mid-morning service our school will be represented by Esme Mennen and Kingston Clark.
