Cathedral Ranges Hike

In Week 1 of term, the Year 10 Outdoor Ed class completed a two day bushwalk. They had to organise all their food, carry all their equipment and were pushed physically, especially on the first day climbing to North and South Jawbone. We overcame blisters, failed pancakes, soggy tents and heat exhaustion to arrive back to school with a real sense of achievement. Well done to all the students on a challenging, yet rewarding experience.

Hardrock Climbing

Our Y10 Outdoor Ed class recently attended Hardrock Climbing in Nunawading. This experience challenged the students both physically and mentally, being pushed outside their comfort zones. They were required to belay one another and trust their climbing partner.  Many of the class members were able to reach the top over 20m above the ground.

Kayaking

The Y10 Outdoor Ed class had an excellent day of kayaking on the Yarra. We completed a skills session in the morning before departing on a two hour journey. Throughout the journey we completed five serious rapids including the infamous 'Bob's Rock,' which caused a few capsizes.  A great day was had by all.
