Compass Level 4 and Bronze Exploration 1 – Phillip Island

Clare Rayner

Our juniors had quite an experience on the weekend of 25th & 26th May. Great weather, great company and a wonderful location – despite being in the fog in the mornings, the students had a very busy and accomplished weekend.  We had a two day hike exploration across and around parts of the Island – the students walked 15km on Day 1, from Griffin Point in San Remo, onto the Island and along to Rhyll, then on Day 2 we completed the Cape Woolamai Walk; 10km of racing against the incoming high tide.

It was quite a learning experience for all involved, with the students checking on their equipment, menus/suitable foods for nutritious meals and how to organise their tents. Well done to all students involved; I look forward to reading your reflections and seeing the proof of the learning in the next exploration.
