What an adventure!

Our Award students really raised their level of skill, awareness and resilience as they completed their four day exploration in mid-May.   Day 2 we experienced torrential rain on our hike. The level of rain was great for the waterfalls around Lorne and certainly helped them look spectacular, although it was not great to hike and camp in.  We were wet all the way through to socks and bare skin, but the students rallied around, supported each other and devised strategies to overcome the situation and be as comfortable as possible with being uncomfortable.

Throughout our evening reflections, the students considered their difficulties and ways to prevent/react and move forward in their planning for next time.

This group was amazing and rose from the torrents to see the beauty in the nature around them; from koalas, rocks and plenty of great views. Well done everyone – more training towards our final exploration in late October.
