Year 7 students have been creating ‘Baby Boxes’ in their mathematics classes – miniature versions of various boxes that have been recycled from home. To make sure the Baby Boxes look just right, students have had to draw on their measurement skills and understanding of ratio and scale while investigating how length, area and volume change when a 3D shape is scaled down to one quarter (or less!) of its original size. Here are some impressive examples where students have also tapped into their creative sides!
