Writing Moderation at Rangeview

In Week 2, all students at Rangeview were provided with the writing prompt 'The Bubble'.

Students were asked to write a narrative story in a 45 minute session.

With just over 700 amazing narratives, our teachers have been hard at work reading the stories and in teams, discussing the fabulous, creative writing of our students. This week, all of our teaching staff met to look at all levels of the writing, discuss marking, moderate and celebrate our fantastic writers. We were also very lucky to have some teachers from Vermont Secondary College and Mullauna College join us for the afternoon!

Look out for your child's writing piece in their 'My Learning' folder later in the term.

Foundation Harry Hippo Parade

On Thursday 2nd May, our Foundation students paraded around the school to celebrate learning the sound /h/. Students wore colourful, self-created hats and paraded with instruments and enormous smiles. What a wonderful afternoon.

Level 1-6 Swimming 2024

In 2024, all students in Levels 1-6 will take part in a 5 day swimming program at Aqualink Nunawading. The intensive 5 day swimming tuition program will be conducted by qualified swimming instructors. As this is a component of curriculum we encourage all students to take part. If your child is unable to take part in the pool, students are still required to attend the pool each day to continue their learning with their teacher and to observe the lessons. We will not be running alternative programs at school during this time.

The Health and Physical Education Curriculum in the primary school years includes swimming and water safety in an aquatic setting. By the end of primary school, it is anticipated that students should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills identified in the Victorian Water Safety Certificate. The Certificate is awarded when a student can swim 50m continuously, answer water safety-based questions and perform simple rescues.
