From the Year 2 Classroom

What a busy term Year 2 has had already! Literacy this term has been all things nonfiction. In Reading we are reading nonfiction narratives and noticing their text features, and summarising the stories.

In Writing we have just published our second information report using the Book Creator app. We have been researching, writing, organising, editing and publishing information books on a wide range of topics, from Minibeasts to Justin Bieber.

Maths has been lots of fun. We have been looking at lots of strategies for addition and subtraction and now have started looking at money, money, money! We are concentrating on adding a range of coins to get a total.

Pentecost is our focus in Religion. We are learning about the Holy Spirit and how the Church began.

As the weather gets colder, our teachers have been reminding us to bring in our jumpers and beanies in the morning.

We have been practicing our running in Sport for this Thursday's Fun Run at Chinaman's Island. Check out the PE poster for our estimated run time if you would like to come down and watch.

Finally, we are also looking forward to seeing you all and sharing our learning Friday 7th after Sacred Heart Day Liturgy.
