7-9 Key Dates

Year 7 Water Treatment Plant Excursion:

Last week Year 7 students visited the GWM Water Treatment Plant at Charlton. This has become an annual event where students are able to connect the theory being covered in the topic ‘Separation of Mixtures’ at school with relevant, real-life applications. They could see firsthand the procedures that are carried out to ensure Charlton and district water is safe to drink and use in our homes. Charlton College would like to thank Shelly and Ivan from GWM for organising and conducting the tour of this facility. Year 7 and Miss Dohrmann would also like to thank Mrs Peverill, Jess Leigh and Jamie Start for accompanying us.

Year 9 Broader Horizons Program

Today is the last day of our Year 9 Broader Horizons sessions! Students have said they have found the experience valuable and interesting as they have explored different facets of their selected industry. A big "thank you" again to all the parents who made this happen for students by organizing permission forms in a short period of time. Additionally, thanks to the industry speakers, Darcy McCallum and Abby Mulquiny, and finally, Julie Bourke (and the NCLLEN) for making this all happen!

Have a browse of the photos from last week's session. Students had a fantastic time out at the Feedlot for Agriculture, down at the Pharmacy and then back at the Health room for Health, and out at the aerodrome and then down the road to look at a grader for Local Community!
