Year 12 Psychology Excursion

On Friday 7th June the Year 12 Psychology classes went on an excursion to Birrarung Marr and the surrounds. As the students went on the river walk, they were asked to consider the Indigenous histories of the area. VCE psychology provides opportunities for students to develop an understanding of the ways that culture, language and connection to country influence cognitive processes, furthering our understanding of learning and memory. Students visited the Scar Tree in Flagstaff Gardens and reflected on Indigenous songlines and the history of Birrarung Marr. It was a lovely afternoon for a walk to the Indigenous sculptures by the river, and students discussed what they symbolised and the importance of having then in the centre of Melbourne.
