The Great Toy Story Challenge

A creative Home Group challenge

This year, our Inter-House challenge took a fun and imaginative turn for our Secondary Home Groups.  Each Home Group received three unloved teddies for each House Team - belonging to Ruby, Topaz, or Emerald (three per Home Group).

Their first task was to gather 72 soft toys for this exciting challenge. The response was surprising! We received more than enough teddies, some donated and others discovered in Op Shops. After a good wash, they were ready for their adventures with our students.

The fun kicked off with a series of creative challenges. First, each teddy needed a name. Then, students composed a meaningful poem about their new furry friend. Next, students got their creative juices flowing by taking imaginative photos of their teddies.

The grand finale? Designing and building a house for their teddies.

These delightful teddy houses were proudly showcased last Friday, 15 June, in front of the Junior School classrooms. To ensure fair play, our Junior School students took on the role of impartial judges, voting for their favourite teddy home. It was a delight to see the young students' joy as they admired their older counterparts' imaginative creations.

The Winners of each category are:

Best Name: Topaz

Best Poems: Ruby

Most Creative Photos: Ruby

Most Splendid Houses: Emerald

Well done to Ruby for winning first place earning 296 points, Emerald came second earning 273 points and Topaz third earning 266 points.

Finally,  our thanks go to both Allison Storey and Lucia Mangos, who have spent many hours organising this challenge and providing a boost to House spirit and the House Challenge.

It has been a wonderful event to be part of and a lot of fun. Thank you to those who organised and supported the students, (Home Group Teachers), and those who participated so heartily in the fun.

7M Assembly Presentation: Focusing on Noah’s Ark

This term, the Year 7 students delved into the lives of biblical figures who exemplify heroic faith. 7M chose to spotlight the story of Noah’s Ark, highlighting Noah as a Hero of Faith and examining his impact as depicted in the bible.

The students of 7M studied Noah's unwavering faith in God amidst a world of disbelief and corruption. Through this exploration, they gained a deeper understanding of Noah's faith in God.

To share their insights with the broader school community, 7M presented at assembly, created a play of the Noah’s Ark story and ran a quiz. The students collaborated to write the script, ensuring it conveyed Noah’s faith and obedience. They then took on various roles, bringing characters to life.

Every student in 7M played a vital role in bringing this project to fruition. Through their hard work, the students deepened their understanding of Noah and developed important skills in collaboration, creativity, and public speaking.
