Prayer of Saint Maria Goretti
Dear God,
Help us to live in the peace which
Maria Goretti found in Christ and
in the love of Holy Mary. Fill us with
your love and mercy, through prayer
and penance for we ask this in the
name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen
Who was Maria Goretti?
- Saint Maria Goretti is special to our school because our red house group is named after her.
- July 6th is the day we celebrate the great achievements of Saint Maria Goretti.
- Maria Goretti was born on 16th October 1890 in Italy.
- Her parents were very poor so she did not attend school.
- When Maria was 12 years old she was killed.
- As she was dying she forgave the person who attacked her.
It doesn’t matter how young we are, Maria Goretti should remind us that we are all called to defend the truth and stand up for what we believe. It will not always be easy, but God will always be with us.
