Welcome

Term 1: Week 4

WELCOME TO WEEK 4!

It was excellent to celebrate last week the official welcome of our Year 7 and new students to the College. Congratulations to our 2024 College Leaders and 12 Year Leaders for receiving their badges. We look forward to the innovative ideas of our leaders this year.

SCHOOL PHOTOS:

School Photos will take place this week. Below are the days required for each year level. All students are required to wear their best formal uniform to school meeting the correct uniform, jewellery and personal grooming requirements. This means limited jewellery and earrings, coloured school hair clips and ribbons and appropriate hairstyles. Students who do not meet these requirements will be addressed by the Head of Year.

Year 7, 8, 9, 12 and sibling Photos - Monday

Year 10, 11 and Absent students - Tuesday

SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE BREAKFAST:

Tuesday we acknowledge and celebrate Shrove Tuesday in the Liturgical calendar. This is in recognition of removing all sweet treats from our pantries in preparation for the Lenton season. Pancakes will be available before school. Any donations for Caritas are most welcome! Please encourage your child to come in for some breakfast and conversation!

GIVING is part of LENT – fundraising events for Project Compassion will occur throughout the term.  Parents and Carers are encouraged to support the amazing work of Caritas by donating here Caritas - Project Compassion .

ASH WEDNESDAY:

On Wednesday, we recognise Ash Wednesday. This is the commencement of the Lenton season where we take time to make sacrifices, look for acts of kindness or support, and raise funds for Caritas Australia in connection to the Catholic Church. To acknowledge Jesus’ sacrifice the tuckshop will not serve meat on Wednesday as a sacrifice for this liturgical event.

ENROLMENT CONDITIONS:

A letter has been sent to all families outlining our enrolment conditions and other key guidelines. These are crucial in shaping the relationship between families and the College. Please take time to read and acknowledge this letter so you are up to date with all St Mary’s documentation to support your child’s learning.

BOARD NOMINATIONS:

We currently have vacancies for parents/carers who would like to join the College Board. Please refer to parent slip sent last week for further information and the application process.

STUDENT NOTICES:

Student notices are accessible for all students each day through pastoral group and online in the daily notices app. Please encourage your child to access these frequently for important information happening in the College.
