Wellbeing and Learning Support

Welcome Back!

I'd like to extend a warm welcome to all the new families who are joining the LNPS community and a big welcome back to all of our returning families. I hope that the summer break provided you with an opportunity to spend time with loved ones and to simply slow down.

This year, I will be continuing in the Autism Inclusion Teacher (AIT) role. I attended a webinar on the 1 February with all other AITs across the state. It was great to reconnect and I look forward to sharing what I will be working on this year.

Last year, I finished the year by completing an Action Research with a year 1/2 class with a focus on Interoception checks after transition. This looked like the class trialing a mindfulness breathing activity after recess and lunch to support with transition and concentration.

I look forward to continuing in the role this year and seeing how we can improve the experience at school for all of our Autistic student community at LNPS.

2024 Student Wellbeing Support Officer (SWSO)

I am pleased to announce that Amena has returned to LNPS this year and she will be undertaking the role of Student Wellbeing Support Officer.

  • provide pastoral care and guidance to students

  • coordinate volunteering activities and support
  • coordinate and support breakfast programs as required

Amena looks forward to working with students this year across the school to support their wellbeing.
