BEACH DAYS 2024

Well, what a wonderful time our Gr 1 to Gr 6 students had at our recent Beach Days led by the Portsea Surf Lifesaving Club team, hosted by the Point Leo Surf Lifesaving Club.

This program is sponsored by United Energy and the Portsea Club, we are very lucky that these community groups value educating the Mornington Peninsula youth on water safety at open beaches.

The student learnt about water safety, swimming in the flags, floating devices, rescue techniques and how to have fun and be safe in the surf.

St Mary's House Spirit Swimming Carnival

Friday the 16th at the Crib Point Swimming Pool for all Grade 3, 4, 5 and 6 students.  This event is to promote participation and house spirit.  Every student is encouraged to give the swimming events a go and they can choose from the following events:

25 and 50-metre Freestyle

25 and 50-metre Backstroke

25 and 50-metre Breastroke

25-metre Butterfly

Then to finish off the carnival we have a few fun water-based novelty races.

Bucket fill

Noodle relay.

We need parent helpers for this day to be a success. Please email Lisa on

lgalvin@smhastings.catholic.edu.au if you are available to come down from 12.30-3.00 pm and assist.  A few helpers to set up the Marquees at 12.00 pm would also be great.

Thanks, Lisa
