Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program | Mila Pickup

The Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program is two-year academic enrichment program designed to support high achieving Victorian Year 11 and Year 12. We congratulate our Year 11 student Mila Pickup who was the successful recipient. Included below is an account of Mila’s induction into the program. Congratulations Mila, we look forward to hearing me about this incredibly opportunity.

"Over the holidays, I attended Melbourne University for The Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholar program. This is a program where they select Year 10 students from schools all across Victoria to participate in a two-year program, to help support students during their VCE and beyond.   On the day, I met other students and Professor Kwong Lee Dow, had a study tip session, lunch, unlimited donuts and an introduction into the benefits we receive as being a part of the program. Some of these include compensated revision lectures for our VCE subjects, an adjusted atar for entrance into degrees at Melbourne, an overseas scholarship program and access to the University of Melbourne library.   I’m looking forward to the numerous events that will run throughout the year and learning more about what the University of Melbourne has to offer. Some of these events include, mental health and wellbeing sessions, revision lectures for Unit 3 and 4 subjects, and study sessions."
