Around Our School
Year 11 Alternative Program
Thank you to all students who participated in the Year 11 Day 1 Alternative Program held on Tuesday January 30. This day was a significant milestone for us, focusing on team cohesion and aiding our students in navigating the transition to VCE.
The morning session featured a presentation from Dr Jane Genovese from Learning Fundamentals. Her insights into strategies for enhancing student motivation and study skills added a valuable addition to the program. Students then embraced the Survivor challenge in the afternoon. This segment aimed to cultivate teamwork, communication, and positive interactions. Witnessing the cooperation displayed by our Year 11 cohort during the challenges was an outstanding way to start the year.
The Year 11 Team would like to extend our gratitude to everyone involved in making the day a memorable and impactful one.
Year 12 Families Meet and Greet BBQ
It was lovely opening the school to our Year 12 families on Monday 5 February to enjoy a BBQ and Q&A with Mrs Sharon Bourne (Careers Practitioner), Ms Kelly Mitchell (Head of Year 12), Ms Claudia Tymms (Senior Campus Wellbeing) and Mr Andrew Batchelor (Principal). It was also great to welcome back Subi Pandey from the graduating Class of 2023 to provide her insight from a student perspective. Mr Jack Barbour (Year 12 Coordinator), Ms Kate Burgess (Year 12 Coordinator), Mr Stephen Crough (Year 12 Methods), Ms Kerry Dragwidge (Year 12 VET Sport and Recreation) and Mr Adam Martin (Year 12 Visual Communication and Design) attended to greet parents/carers and cook the BBQ.
We welcome the families of the Class of 2024 and look forward to working closely with you this year.
