Principal's Message

By Jenny Hassett

Mobile Phones

A reminder to all parents and students that mobile phones MUST be handed in at the office before school and collected at 3.30pm. They will be locked away in the safe. No child should be using a phone during school hours. If a child needs to make contact with a parent, they can come to the office, and we will organise a call.

Prep Enrolments 2025

Wow, we are already planning for 2025! We are again receiving a great response and many inquiries for enrolment forms for Preps 2025. To ensure we have enough space for siblings in our school, we ask that parents with a child who will begin school next year to organise an appointment with myself as soon as possible. I have allocated every Tuesday to chat with parents and meet your little one. During this appointment we can help organise any services or support that is needed for your child to ensure everything is in place for the start of the year. This will allow us to plan ahead, as spaces in our school are limited. Please give Meagan a call in the office and arrange a suitable time. Many thanks in advance.

Professional Developments Days For staff in 2024 - School closed to students.

There are 5 days each year that are agreed on by the Department of Education. We have tried, where possible, to tag some of these days onto a Public Holiday so are parents are less impacted. It is hoped that this may also give families the opportunity to “get away” for a holiday and return when the roads are less congested:

The following days have been approved by School Council for Rollins staff asProfessional Development:

Tuesday 12th March - day after long weekend- Wellbeing- Students, families, staff, and Rollins. We have organised for Chris Eagan (Developmental Coach) to present to staff on this day. We also have a number of staff involved in the Mental health in Schools Project with Melbourne University so this should all tie in as we move towards addressing this important issue in society.

Wednesday 24th April- day before ANZAC Day- Literacy/Numeracy PD Day

Thursday 21st November - Report Writing Day

Friday 20th December - Wellbeing PD/ First Aid Training for all staff/ Planning 2025 (Students finish on Thursday 19th December at 3.30pm)

School Councils Elections

On reflection we have realised that we have not provided 21 days notification for any parent who wishes to nominate for School Council this year. We are therefore extending the timeline for nominations. The revised closing date is:  Friday March 1st 2024. Please feel free to contact the office for additional information or to collect a nomination form.
