John XXIII Netball Club

PRIMARY SCHOOL

Registration closes next Friday, 23 February

Please register early as there are limited places available and registration will close when a year group is full.

We are taking expressions of interest for coaches positions for 2024. Please let me know if you are interested in coaching your child’s team.

Jewellery

Jewellery is not permitted at netball games, with the exception of a medical alert bracelet.

Jewellery is not allowed to be taped. Players wearing jewellery will be asked to leave the court and will not be allowed back on the court until the jewellery is removed.

If you plan on having your daughter's ears pierced in the near future, please be aware of this rule.

Grading sessions

Years 5 and 6             Thursday, 14 March       3:30pm – 5:00pm

Training

• Year 2: on the grass courts on the primary oval
• Years 3 to 6 train on the hard courts at John XXIII College next to E block (Year 7).
• Training is a compulsory component of netball.
• Primary training will be advised by the coach.

Refunds

Withdrawals must be received by Thursday, 7 March 2024 to be eligible for a refund.  

A $25 grading fee will be deducted from all secondary school refunds. A $5 finance administration fee will be deducted from all primary school refunds.

Refunds for the Netball Australia and Netball WA portion of the fees will be reimbursed directly by Netball WA, less administration fees and charges.

NetSetGo refunds will have the cost of the promotional pack deducted from the refund by Netball Australia. 

Uniforms

Netball players are required to wear the following John XXIII College Netball uniform

• Years 4 to Year 12 wear the John XXIII Netball dress
• Years 2 & 3 wear the College sports uniform.

Please contact the uniform shop asap to organise your dress.

SECONDARY SCHOOL

Although it was very hot, it was great to kick off our secondary grading sessions last week.

Grading continues this weekend for all year groups.

Please email the Club ASAP if you cannot attend a grading session. 

NOTE: Due to the extreme heat on Sunday grading times have changed.

• Grading is on the John XXIII College netball courts next to the Year 7 / E Block.
• Please arrive 10 minutes early to be checked in.
• Wear your college sports uniform.
• Remove all jewellery
• Nails should be short and smooth.
• Bring a water bottle

Pre-season Fitness

It was great to see so many girls at fitness last week. Fitness training is optional. There is no registration; just show up and sign in on the day. Fitness is held on the oval under the netball courts between 7:15am – 8:00am on Wednesdays and Fridays.

• Wednesday, 21 and Friday, 23 February
• Wednesday, 28 February and Friday, 3 March
• Wednesday, 6 and Friday, 8 March

Training

Training begins on Tuesday, 19 and Thursday, 21 March at the John XXIII College on the courts next to E block (Year 7).

Training is compulsory; times are:

• Years 6, 7, 8 and 9        Thursdays 3:30pm – 5:00pm
• Years 10, 11 and 12     Tuesdays 3:30pm – 5:00pm

College sports uniform is to be worn
