Welcoming our new staff members

Hi I am Bec, I am a VCE Psychology, Health and Food Studies mentor who grew up in Melbourne, but moved to Shepparton 11 years ago, planning to stay a year. Two at the most.

The warm, accepting people of the GV made me feel so welcome that I can’t ever imagine living anywhere else now.

I am married to Troy who is also a teacher at St Anne’s College and have two young kids who ensure I don’t oversleep. I’m looking forward to joining the St Anne’s community.

Sophie Sidebottom - 1/2 Learning Mentor

I went to University in Bendigo and I have previously taught in Shepparton and Darwin.

I'm very excited to be apart of the team at St Anne's College, everyone has been so welcoming!

In my spare time I enjoy playing netball, camping, travelling/exploring and socialising with friends and family.

Taking the next step in shaping and inspiring the minds of tomorrow

St Anne’s College would like to express its heartfelt and warm congratulations to Jorgi Alper, our much beloved Learning Support Officer (LSO) who is set to take up a Bachelor of Education offer at Deakin University’s Geelong campus on Monday.

Having wholeheartedly embraced her role assisting and guiding students within the School of Wonder since the beginning of last year, Jorgi has not only completed a Certificate 3 in Education Support but has developed a passion for the profession of classroom teaching itself.

Having ‘…absolutely loved working in the Year 1 and 2 learning spaces watching the children evolve into independent learners’, Jorgi, while sad to be leaving the college, is hopeful that she’ll be able to return for future teaching rounds.

Having been a part of the college’s dynamic, supportive and super-friendly LSO team for the past twelve months, it was only when a friend imparted to her that a Certificate 3 in Education Support would place her in good stead for a university placement, that she took the plunge to apply.

Within days, Jorgi was offered a placement at Deakin, bolstered by not only her dedicated work experience at St Anne’s but her Certificate 3 qualification.

Wishing you all the very best in your studies, Jorgi! You’re already on your way to becoming an inspired learning mentor.
