A Message from

Hannah & Keir

“I would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, the first people to dream, create, wonder, dance, play and learn on this breathtaking land. This land was cared for and respected for tens of thousands of years. The First Nations people lived in companionship with the animals and the life on this land. I acknowledge that this is stolen land and I pay my respects to elders, past, present and emerging.”

Specialist Afternoon

Here at BNWPS we are very proud of the integrity and success of our amazing Indonesian, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, P.E., and Environmental Science programs. On Friday 15th December we had our first Specialist Afternoon and all of these programs were open and available for students and their families to experience first hand. It was wonderful for their tio be such a focussed buzz around the school at such a late time in the year, and we would like to thank the Specialist teachers for the engaging family activities that they had planned. Huge thanks too to all of the community members who were able to come along; we hope you enjoyed yourselves, and learnt alot!

Unit LT 2024

As many of you would have heard, we are very happy to announce that Tim Harwood will be remaining at BNWPS in 2024. Tim will remain as a part time classroom teacher in the Junior School team, and we would like to thank him for his patience; we are very happy that he has decided to remain a member of the BNWPS family!

Tim will be sharing a classroom with Lilly Van Dyk. Lilly will be our only new staff member in 2024. Here’s a hello from Lilly;

“My name is Lilly and I am SO excited to be joining the BNWPS community next year.

I have been a primary school teacher for the last 10 years, and after 8 years at my

current school I felt ready for a change. My personal values allign very

closely with BNW, and after also meeting with staff, students and families, I

feel very confident that I will be a great fit for the school.

Students and families- please come up and introduce yourself if you see me (hopefully not looking lost!) in the yard.”

Moving Day

Today, while all of our students were having a wonderful fun day at the pool in Coburg, we were able to organise for some wonderful members of our community to volunteer their time and come in to assist in setting classrooms up for 2024. We would like to extend a huge BNWPS THANK YOU and a round of applause Libby and David Campbell. We are very grateful for your time, your enthusiasm and your efforts!

School Council

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to this year's SChool Council and Sub Committee members. The contributions that each of you make are truly appreciated by the school and your efforts do not go unnoticed; how about another round of applause?!

2023 School Calendar

We will be handing out hard copies of our Term One 2024 calendar next year. In the meantime, we have included a section here in the newsletter of key dates for 2024 so that families can start to fill up their diaries.

Assembly on Wednesday

On Wednesday at 1.10 we will be having afinal ‘Good Bye Grade Sixes’ assembly on the basketball courts. We will also have some short announcements, and will bid adieu to a few of our families who may have finished their time at BNWPS. We would love to see you there.

We wish everyone a restful and restorative holiday, and we look forward to connecting with yo again in 2024.
