Aquila

"I've loved being part of Aquila and our school community. We've had a great year contributing and participating in school events. We won House Spirit at House Athletics Carnival this year as Aquila students participated and cheered for their House. We also were able to fundraise and raise money by selling popcorn and running soccer penalty shootouts." Salina Balay, Year 10 Aquila SRC

"This year, I've had the privilege of working with my peers to receive feedback on improving the Aquila house. We have had a couple of meetings with our respective year levels, discussing some changes that could be implemented to benefit Aquila. Another experience as an SRC this year, I also had opportunities to get involved in fundraising, such as selling popcorn and helping with the soccer penalty shootout. Working with Aquila this year has been an amazing experience, and I hope to see many improvements throughout the rest of 2024 and into 2025." Emilia Rusec, Year 11 Aquila SRC

As we reflect on 2024, the students of Aquila have demonstrated a strong sense of pride and community. Their dedication to academic studies and active involvement in school events, such as Founders Day, Talent Quest, House Athletics, this year's school Musical, MAD Day, and SIS activities, among others, has been truly inspiring.

A big thank you to the Aquila staff members along with our House Captains, Erion and Gabby, and our SRC Aquila members, Dewmanthi, Emilia, Salina, Cody, Miroslav and Gurpreet, for helping cultivate Aquila's sense of community and belonging.

Finally, we extend our best wishes to the Year 12s as their journey at St John's ends. I hope you've created wonderful memories, forged lasting friendships, and achieved things you can be proud of.

Best of luck for the future!
