Finishing Well
As students, teachers and families near the end of term four, everyone may begin to feel exhausted. Getting up each morning for school may become increasingly hard as our focus shifts toward the Christmas and Summer seasons that are just around the corner. However, it is important to finish well and take time to enjoy each special moment.
In Chapel this week, we looked at the Book of Job and what it means to persevere. Job was a good man, a follower of God who unfortunately lost his wealth, his children, and his health, however, throughout it all, he maintained his faith in God.
Job says, “God is not better to princes than other people. He is not better to rich people than poor people. This is because he made them all with his own hands.” Job's story teaches us that true perseverance is not about avoiding challenges, but about facing them with love, courage, forgiveness and hope. It's about trusting in God, even when we are struggling, for God loves everybody equally.
As the 2024 school year begins to wrap up, we urge you all to stay focused, be kind to your peers and try your best!
Jack, Chloe and I would like to thank the Good Shepherd community for welcoming us back to speak. It was an incredible privilege to return to our primary school and learn that the inclusive, fun and family-like culture has not changed at all. We are grateful that our schools are so closely connected and that we have opportunities such as these.
