Term 4 has been jam-packed with activities in Year 7 English! We have continued with our Literacy Circles, where students have been experimenting with a variety of reading comprehension strategies. They explored a wide selection of written and audiovisual texts as a basis of discussion, whereby students applied their understanding of the taught strategies. All English teachers have thoroughly enjoyed witnessing such insightful discussions in English classrooms, and we can’t wait to see how they apply these strategies with texts next year!

Early November, Yarrabing was visited by Mel - a representative from Melton Libraries, to have a chat with our students about what they’re reading and to give recommendations. We received an overwhelming response from students during the lunchtime session, as there were several students lining up to have a chat about various novels, and to discover what Melton Libraries can offer students. The English Faculty thanks Mel for her willingness to chat to our students, and warmly welcome her return in the very near future.
