Walk and Wheel Wednesdays
Featuring: Harry, Steph, James and Mia (Grade 6) walking to school
We had a very successful start to term 4 with over 40% of the school walking and wheeling to school. Congratulations to 1PT who had 62%, 4JK in second place with 58% and 4JT with 55% of the class walking or wheeling to school.
Walk and Wheel Wednesdays have so many benefits including:
If you live far away or the weather is not ideal for walking, your family can park the car close by and walk part of the way to school.
Wheeling can include various modes of transport including bike, scooter, skateboard, and unicycle. There will be an award for the class with most walkers and wheelers in Junior School (Foundation- Grade 2) and Middle/Senior School (Grades 3- 6)
Please remember if you are riding to school, that once you arrive at the gates to get off and walk your bike to the bike storage area. Orlando (6HR) rides his bike to school daily to keep himself healthy. In the picture above, he is demonstrating how he walks his bike through the school.
Walk and Wheel Wednesday drawings by Amanda (6HR) James P (6HR) and July (3AT)
As I walk to school
My heart jumps with excitement
I feel as fresh as a daisy
I am ready to start the day
Wonderful poem by Mia 6H
The “Walk and Wheel” Art Gallery has re-opened. Please send any drawings or poems to 6HR so that we can celebrate our budding artists.
