NUMERACY

AUSTRALIAN MATHS COMPETITION

This year we had 33 students, from Gr 3 to 6, participate in the Australian Maths Competition.  We are very proud of all those students who used their risk-taker disposition and had a go. Well done everyone. 

Congratulations to those students who received awards with 15 students receiving either a Credit or Distinction Certificate. 

We are extremely proud of one Grade 4 student who placed in the Top 10 students in Victoria, or the top 0.03% of students.   Congratulations to Ryan Lui for an amazing effort on the AMC. Ryan has been invited to the Australian Maths Trust Award Ceremony to be presented with a prize for finishing in the top 10 students in the state.

STAFF MODERATION

As we get closer to the end of the year and reporting on your child's learning progress in 2024, we engage in the whole school process of moderation. 

“Moderation is the process of teachers sharing their expectations and understanding of standards with each other in order to improve the consistency of their decisions about student learning.” (NZ Government)

Moderation allows us to work collaboratively, sharing our knowledge to ensure that all students across the school are being assessed and graded in the same way.  This ensures the progress reports you receive are checked and moderated giving you an accurate indication of your child's learning.
