10 Day Intensive Swimming Program
Term 4

Dear Parents, Carers,
Our intensive 10-day swimming program will be run by Manning Aquatic Swim School, in Term 4 from:
* Monday 25th to Friday 29th November 2024
* Monday 2nd to Friday 6th December 2024
This program will be open to all children from Kindergarten to Year 6.
The children will be taught by qualified Swimming Instructors employed by the Manning Aquatic Centre. Sessions will be 45 minutes long and will run for 10 days between 9.15am. and 2.00pm. Children will be accompanied to and from the pool by school staff.
The cost will be $130.00 for the 10-day program, including bus travel, facility entry, and professional instruction. This can be paid through our Sentral Parent Portal or at the front office via cash or EFTPOS. Active Kids and First Lap vouchers are not accepted this year.
If you would like your child to attend, please answer the questions below: consent to attend, Learn to Swim Criteria, Concussion Protocols, Permission to Publish, Code of Conduct and updated Medical information.
A deposit of $50 must be paid to secure your child's position in the program by Friday, 27th September. The final balance must be paid by Friday, 1st November. After this date, there will be no refunds.
Parents will be informed of the details of their child's classes before the program commences. Swimming Assessment Criteria
Beginner level
* Enter and exits water safely and confidently
* Can paddle and kick with face submerged
* Can float independently on their back
* Can swim using 'big circle' arms
* Can kick on their back with the use of a board
* Can kick on back independently (no board)
Intermediate level
* Can swim up to 10 meters freestyle (may need improvement)
* Can swim up to 10 meters backstroke (may need improvement)
* Can tread water for 30 seconds
* Can do basic breaststroke kick motion (may need improvement)
* Can float on their back independently for 30 seconds
Advanced level
* Can swim 25 meters of freestyle
* Can swim 25 meters of backstroke
* Can perform a standing dive from side of pool
* Can swim 25 meters of breaststroke
* Can perform dolphin kick

Students and staff should not attend school if they are sick. COVID-19 symptomsExternal link include fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting, extreme tiredness, unexplained chest pain or conjunctivitis (eye infection).
If symptoms occur at any time, your child should not attend school until they are well and symptom-free. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remains our priority.
