Passive Play, Legoland, Gardening
Lunchtime clubs that incorporate passive play, gardening, and LEGO offer a serene environment for children to engage in creative pursuits while enjoying a much-needed break. In these quiet spaces, children can explore their imaginations through hands-on activities like planting seeds, designing miniature landscapes, or building intricate structures with LEGO. These clubs encourage mindfulness and collaboration, allowing kids to express themselves without the distractions of more active play. By nurturing their creativity in a tranquil setting, children develop not only their artistic skills but also a sense of calm and focus, making lunchtime a refreshing blend of relaxation and exploration.
Passive play was expertly announced by Alex over the loud speaker, building skills and confidence. This week we had students making a train station with a train track, including a very impressive "switch", some imaginative cooking, and drawing. "It was so much fun and I would love to do it more" - Dylan
Hello families, Legoland is a good opportunity for our students because it involves working together, building and friendship. From Sylvie
We have an abundance of hoverflies enjoying the garden at the moment, particularly the pale vanilla lilies. Hoverflies have one pair of wings which places them in the Order Diptera along with flies, although they mimic wasps with their yellow and black bands. Their larvae look like maggots and crawl along foliage searching for aphids to eat.
