Birthday Dinner

It is always a challenge to celebrate every birthday in the Boarding House, so we thought a better way would be to recognise all birthdays of the term in one evening. We celebrated all 23 birthdays this week with a birthday cake dinner. An excellent way to acknowledge all birthdays simultaneously and have a treat for all.

Tricky Trivia Tuesday

Each week the boarding house has a short competitive quiz night, namely Tricky Trivia Tuesday! The boarders love it. They compete for a block of chocolate and race to get their answers to Boarding Captains Bella and Charlie as fast as possible. With our Year 12’s finishing up this term the questions have been centred on them. Below are just some of the quiz questions given out this week. Tricky Trivia also tends to raise a few laughs before we say our prayer and begin dinner.

  1. Name the Year 12 who just turned 18 (Monday 14 Oct)?
  2. Which boarder has a surname starting with ‘V’?
  3. Who drives a new MG? (slightly dinted!!)
  4. Which boarder studies French?
  5. Name a boarder with a three-letter given name?
  6. Name a boarder from SA with a car on site?
  7. Which boarder has German heritage?
  8. Which boarder was best and fairest in Netball for their region this year?
  9. Who recently went to watch the Singapore Grand Prix?
  10. Who is known for their super cricket skills?
  11. Which boarder is a basketball ref and sports captain?
  12. Which two boarders are planning a GAP year in the UK next year? (clue: one is from Speirs and one from Mac House).
  13. Who is studying music and completing a vocal performance this term?

Boarder of the Week

William Mackellar is our boarder of the week. William has been boarding since Year 7 and is passionate about music and sport. Over the years, William has persevered in both to the point where he is excelling. William has been recognised as one of our best players with a love of cricket. Off the sporting field, William has only recently completed his VCE Examination in percussion, specifically the Marimba. William is a fantastic roommate to Hunter Lynch, too. Well done, William.

Run Club

The culture of building fitness and being healthy is growing, and I hope to see this continue well into the future. Congratulations to all the boarders who are taking on the early morning runs.
