Good afternoon families,

Michelle Barron and myself had a wonderful time in Sydney at the PETAA Literacy conference. We had many take aways to bring back to school as we enhance the St Louis' approach to English for 2025. I will have more information over the next few weeks.

Congratulations to our Year 3 students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation this week. Thank you to Father Andrew, Father Huy and Father Peter for supporting the children through this beautiful Sacrament. Thank you to Mrs Douglas and the Year 3 teachers for their preparation of the children.

Sport Update

We have a very busy week of sport coming up.

Good luck to the students who will be participating in the Regional athletic competition on Monday 21 October.

On Tuesday 22 October 2 of our AFL girls' team will be competing at RESA Park.

On Wednesday 23 October 10 of our Year 6 boys will be competing in the Hot Shot tennis final. This is the first time this competition has been run, so we are very excited to be in the finals.

On Thursday 24 October some of our Year 6 students will be competing in the Division mixed volleyball finals.

Good luck to all our students who are representing St Louis.

World Teacher's Day

On Friday 25 October it is World Teacher's Day. This is a special day to celebrate the wonderful teachers at St Louis'. I am very lucky to work with such an amazing team of dedicated teachers and I appreciate their hard work and the care and support they give all our students.

St Louis' Christmas Festival - Friday 6 December - 3.30pm - 7.30pm

Traditionally this would be the year of the school production, however due to not having a musical director on staff and not having the budget that is required to put on a whole school production at Frankston Art Centre, we decided to do something different. We looked at the feedback we had from the parent community after the last production and the believe we should try a new approach.

On Friday 6 December we will be celebrating all our students at our Christmas Festival. All classes will be participating in class performances and all students are expected to attend. A program will run out of the hall and a time will be given for each class and parents can come and go as they would like. When your child/ren have performed you are able to wander around the festival and/ or go home.

The Christmas Festival will have food vans, sausage sizzle, local craft Christmas stalls, 24 class performances, a Year 3/4 dance troupe, a Year 5/6 dance troupe and two flash mob dance groups, staff band, staff Christmas item and busker items in the garden from students who have an item they would like to perform. Families can bring a picnic and sit on the oval and watch the festival as another option.

Classroom teachers may be asking for 'costumes' (eg- reindeer ears, white tee shirt, black shorts etc )to be supplied and we will let you know asap.
