Year 1 Students Visit Melbourne Zoo!
Last Thursday, our enthusiastic Grade 1 students headed off on an exciting adventure to Melbourne Zoo as part of their learning about animals and their habitats.
During their visit, the students participated in an engaging educational session, where they discovered fascinating facts about the features of animals, the importance of protecting animal habitats and even got to feed the giant tortoises!
Some of us were also lucky enough to be able to see the baby meerkats who were only 10 days old!
The students' behaviour was excellent throughout the day - one zookeeper even commented on how curious and clever our students were. They returned to school ready to embark upon their habitat diorama projects with even more knowledge about the environment they will be creating in the coming weeks.
They also wrote some beautifully detailed recounts about the experience. Well done, Grade 1!
This week Grade 6 are focusing on decimals and place value. We enjoy playing games to assist us to develop our understanding and fluency.
