Principal Report

Dear families,

I hope this newsletter makes your week a lucky one, whether the Cup is your thing or not. We feel lucky at school that we have a Tuesday off!

We are entering the business end of the year with some big events on the horizon.

Colour Run, Carols, Art Show and Graduation are all coming over the next 6 weeks.

In school we are working on our class lists, ensuring transition for all students, not just new preps, goes well. We are also making sure our reporting is taking shape for the end of the year. You will receive your portfolios in week 6. These are the final snapshots of the year. In week 11 you will receive your end of year reports. Grade 6 students should download them on the day they are released as the Compass systems rolls over on the last day of the year and concels the family login.

Sickness

We have several staff away this week already with a range of illnesses. You may see some unexpected changes to teaching arrangements over the coming weeks. Thank you in advance for being patient with this.

If you do have a child who is unwell, we would appreciate you using common sense as to whether you send them to school or not.

Hand cleaning

It may be a good time to break out the 'twinkle twinkle little star song' for washing hands with our smaller children. Our older kids need to be reminded to wash their hands with soap for 20 seconds.

Laptops

Grade 2 students have been familiarising themselves with their new machines, and their new responsibilities that go with them. It has been great to see what they are capable of producing already. We have also topped up our iPad numbers to cover the extra students that are coming into school next year.

Basketball

The grade 56 basketball team has progressed from Hoop Time through to the state finals. We wish them the best of luck for the next round. They have been amazing so far and we are proud of their efforts.

Wishing you a great week ahead.
