RELIGIOUS EDUCATON
Socktober
As part of Mission Month, Sacred Heart took part in a Socktober event on Monday, raising funds for Mongolia, Catholic Mission's country project for 2024.
Some of the we funds raised will go to assisting the Don Bosco Centre in Mongolia - interestingly the Year 3/4's Big Day Out was to take part in activities at a Don Bosco Youth Centre here in Melbourne.
Here is a photo of the murals located at the Don Bosco Centre, that the Year 3/4's visited on Thursday. Both messages on the beautiful murals are from Don Bosco and so fitting with our fundraising efforts - "The world is my family, all are my brothers and sisters, my religion shines through the good that I do'.
Families can still make a donation using this link to donate directly to our Catholic Mission Sacred Heart fundraising page.
I will include the final tally of fund raised in next weeks newsletter.
Thank you to the SRT for helping coordinate Socktober - we learnt that making sock-er balls and using them takes a bit of trial and error! All materials used to create the balls were made from recycled materials - we even used string/ribbon used at our Exhibition of Learning in Term 3.
Reconciliation
Congratulations to Samantha, Suzie, Eva, Luke, Lawrence, Laura and Georgia on making their First Reconciliation on Wednesday evening. Thank you to the families and Father Aloysius for a lovely faith filled sacrament and celebration.
Have a great long weekend.
Take Care,
Kate
