Red Class News

Miss Graham

It's only week 4, but it's already been an exciting and eventful term for K/1!

Literacy

As K/1 students learn more sounds, they're showing greater confidence in reading and writing on their own! Last week, we focused on adjectives by drawing our own unique monsters and then describing them, adding lots of new, descriptive words to our vocabulary.

Numeracy

In numeracy, K/1 students have continued practising counting and number recognition. Lately, we've been exploring subtraction through fun, hands-on activities that have made this concept easier to understand. Seeing the students develop a strong understanding of subtraction has been truly exciting!

Other activities

A big highlight was the visit to the fire station! The students loved seeing inside the fire trucks, spraying the water hose, and learning about fire safety.

Last week, we also revisited the idea of kindness and discussed how to “fill each other’s buckets” by showing kindness and doing thoughtful acts for others.

It's been a great start to the term, and we look forward to all the wonderful learning and adventures ahead!
