Mudgee Golf Weekend a 'Hit'!

Last weekend, the inaugural Fathers of Kinross Golf & Dinner event in Mudgee teed off in fine style, with Dads representing every year group from Kindy through to Year 12.

Defying the foundation's motto 'it's not about the golf', the winning team comprising of Captain Ben Brabin, Neil Armstong, Joel Cooper and Mudgee local Cameron Anderson finished even par over 10 holes, with the next three teams each just a single shot behind. Amazingly, nearly all teams managed to protect and return their pink penalty ball with the same level of attention usually reserved for a primary school 'care for your egg' experiment.

Maybe a Saturday late morning warm-up at Rosby Wines helped many of our social golfers limber up. A huge thanks to our Rosby hosts and Kinross Wolaroi Grandparents and Parents respectively (Kay and Gerry, along with Amber and Cameron), for their guided discussion frequently shifting between wine, food and locally curated art works (yes Mums this was a very refined Dad's Golf weekend).

Student's of Kinross Wolaroi, Dads in attendance can attest that Principal Kelly has a very respectable golf swing. He consistently executed pin high approach shots, not reflective of someone who said 'he hasn't played golf in a long time'….or has he? He did also briefly mention something about being very competitive!

Most importantly, the event provided a fantastic opportunity for fathers across all year groups to connect away from the sidelines. Thank you to everyone involved in making the inaugural weekend such a success, particularly Jimmy Cardiff, Steve Hinks and Peter Solomon—it will be the first of many.
