Week 9

Last week we held our Celebration of Learning.  It was so wonderful to see so many parents and friends attend.  Thank you to Mrs Clendinning for coordinating our choir and K-6 Flash Mob!  Both items were spectacular.

Ken Thompson Visit

A few weeks ago, 29 choir  and highland dance students went to Ken Thompson with Mrs Clendinning and Mrs Dunham. I was very proud to hear their behaviour, attitude and performances were just beautiful from start to finish and Mrs Clendinning said it is such a joy to work with these beautiful kids.

The residents clearly loved what the students prepared for them. Some residents were singing along to the songs, others were visibly trying to dance along to the highland dancing and there were some that were moved to tears by the children's voices. It really was a very special time.

The manager Talissa said that they remembered Martin's Gully from last year and they were just as impressed this year.

MGPS Tree Troff Group

MGPS Tree Troff group ended the year sharing their research and findings with 7 other schools from across the state. The learning and sharing of the common interest in preserving our environment and its animals has been wonderful to witness, we hope that our leaving year 6 members carry these values as they head into high school.

Stay tuned as The Tree Troff group has big plans for 2026!

Important Update: Martin's Gully Christmas Party

Dear Families, due to the current weather forecast, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Martin's Gully Christmas Party planned for this week.  For those who have pre-purchased food and games, the P&C will be in touch shortly regarding refunds.

The Christmas raffle will still run.  Donations are still being collected at the front office, and tickets are still able to be purchased through Qkr.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of our school community.  We wish all families a wonderful and safe festive season.

 Kind regards, Martin's Gully P&C

PAX Word of the Week       EMBRACE

Gallery Image

  • Embrace means to accept something enthusiastically. This week our focus is to embrace differences.

Watch the actions for RECOGNITION in Australian Sign Language

Why there’s no specific AUSLAN sign for “embrace” -

In AUSLAN, not every English word has its own special sign.

Sometimes we use a sign that shows the same feeling or meaning instead.

For embrace, we use the sign for recognise or recognition, because it means understanding and accepting others — just like embracing them with kindness.

Keep on plodding!
