Deputy Principal

What another fantastic week it was at Sacred Heart! It started with a brave and most generous act of charity from of one of our students, Chloe David, to fundraise and donate her hair to those children affected by cancer (see Year 4/5 News). Over $3 000 was raised, great work Chloe and the David family!
A beautiful Graduation ceremony, organised by our Year 6 teachers, Ann and James, followed. It's always a bitter sweet occasion, seeing these young people say goodbye to their community and head off to new schools and new adventures. Congratulations to Veer, Roman, Maxie, Mohammad, Ali, Katelin, Gail, Stephanie, Allie, Tiffany, Aleisha, Lauren, Jasmine and Isabella on a wonderful time you've had at Sacred Heart. To the families saying goodbye, thanks for all your support, we will miss you all!
With one eye on the past and another on the future, the next event in this busy week was our Foundation 2026 Meet the Buddies afternoon. So wonderful to welcome new families as well as provide opportunities for our next group of senior leaders to emerge. A great afternoon was had by all!
The other buddies for 2026 are Gabriel and Massie, Matthew and Anh, Samuel and Callix, Justin and Brenton/Mason and Nora and Raffaele. We look forward to continuing this wonderful program at our school.
On Thursday, Giulia and the Year 1's celebrated the end of a fantastic year with an excursion into the city to see the Myer windows. From the photos and the atmosphere on their return, it sounded like a brilliant day out. Well done to Giulia and the parent helpers for making it such a success!
The end of the week saw the whole school assemble for our Talent Show where we were witness to an amazing array of talented artists, singers, dancers, comedians and acrobats. A big thanks to Abby, Giulia and Lauren for organising. The kids had fun!
And finally, we said farewell to this year's Foundation kids at a Christmas concert, where the students shared some of their learning with their mums, dads, brothers and grandparents. Gifts were exchanged, an afternoon tea was served and tears were shed as we all got a chance to say 'Well Done' to these marvellous children and their families!
So, as we head off into the distance, may I take this opportunity to say a massive thanks to all our parents and caregivers for supporting us in our work. We always strive to keep your children at the HEART of everything we do. Have a wonderful Christmas, a peaceful break, a brilliant New Year and we'll see you all in 2026!
Regards,
Marty Fitzpatrick
