Good Bye Year 9s

There’s always a bit of bittersweetness in saying goodbye to another group of Year 9s. On one hand, it’s incredibly rewarding to see how much they’ve grown; how their confidence has built, how friendships have strengthened, and how they’ve handled challenges along the way. On the other hand, it’s hard to watch them go!

Our final assembly on Friday was a wonderful celebration of everything they’ve achieved this year. We had a record number of students receiving CLEaR awards; some for their fantastic efforts over the last few weeks, and others whose steady commitment throughout the year deserved that extra recognition. The video montage was a highlight, reminding everyone just how many opportunities they embraced in 2025.

I’m also proud to share that, although the last week of term can sometimes be tricky, our Year 9s (now officially Year 10s!) finished the year with maturity, focus and great attitudes. There were so many casual chats in the building where students spoke about the positive year they’ve had, the lessons they’ve learned, and their gratitude for the journey.

One moment that will stay with me for a long time was the Blessing Song on the final day. Every single student joined in—and it was impossible not to get goosebumps. There was a real sense of pride, community, and the feeling that this group has shared something special this year.

Thank you for your support throughout 2025. It has been a wonderful year, and we wish every student success, joy and continued growth as they step confidently into Senior School.
