As we approach the end of another dynamic and memorable year in Middle School, we take this opportunity to celebrate during our Final Assembly many formal achievements of our students and acknowledge the dedication, leadership, and spirit they have brought to 2025. These award recipients and student leaders are young people who have contributed richly to the life of our Middle School and exemplified the values we strive to uphold.

Next week marks an exciting period of transition as we look ahead to 2026. On Monday, our Year 8 students begin their three-day Jumpstart Program as they step confidently into their journey as Year 9 students. At the same time, we warmly welcome our Year 4 students to the Yirramboi Campus, where they will join our current Years 5, 6, and 7 students for Step Up Day. We are also delighted to welcome approximately 80 new studentsinto Middle School, joining us predominantly in Years 5 from a broad range of Primary School settings. Their arrival enriches our community and brings fresh perspectives, enthusiasm, and energy.

As we close out the year, we acknowledge the resilience our community has displayed through times of change. Our students have embraced challenges, supported one another, and strengthened the culture of Middle School in meaningful ways. We thank them and you, their families for your partnership and positivity, and we look forward to beginning 2026 with optimism, purpose, and pride.

Middle School Academic Awards

The Academic Awards for Middle School recognise students who have achieved the highest academic results across the year, with awards presented to the top seven students in Years 5 and 6 and the top eight students in Years 7 and 8. These awards are determined by academic achievement results drawn from formal assessment tasks. Recipients have demonstrated exceptional performance across multiple subject areas, consistently producing work of the highest quality and showing strong analytical thinking, deep understanding, and mastery of the concepts taught. Their results reflect outstanding scholarly achievement and a genuine commitment to academic excellence.

We are excited to honour our Academic Award recipients for their exceptional accomplishments at Friday’s Final Assembly.

Middle School SRC Parliament Visit

Article by Josh Reeves, Synergy Leader

On Tuesday 2nd of December, the Middle School SRC travelled to Parliament of Victoria to celebrate their efforts for the year. The students received a tour of the building and learnt about how policies are implemented in Victoria (the students did suggest that free McDonalds should be allowed every Friday as a policy idea!). This allowed students to understand how ideas are discussed and implemented in wider society, to inspire them to do the same within a school context. The students also met with Natalie Suleyman MP, asked her questions and shared their experiences and crossed paths with the Hon. Ben Carroll. All in all, students enjoyed the day.

2025 Middle School Anglicare Christmas Drive – Event Wrap-Up

We are delighted to share that our annual Middle School Anglicare Christmas Drive was a wonderful success! Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of our students and families, we were able to contribute a significant number of toys and donations to support Anglicare’s mission of bringing Christmas joy to children and families in need.

On Wednesday, 3 December, students arrived in festive casual dress and embraced the spirit of giving. Many brought along toy donations, thoughtfully placed under the Christmas tree in the Middle School Reception, while others contributed through gold coin donations collected during Homegroup. The support shown by our community was truly heartwarming.

We are incredibly proud of our students for the compassion and kindness they demonstrated. Thank you to all families for your ongoing support, your generosity helps make a meaningful difference to those who need it most at this time of year.
