Coloured Craft Sand Recall 

A reminder regarding the recall of certain coloured craft and play sand products currently under investigation for possible asbestos contamination. Health authorities, including the Australian Government and the Victorian Department of Health, have recently downgraded the potential risk to human health from low to very low.

Information for Families 

Some families may have coloured craft or play sand at home. As this is a community wide recall, we encourage you to stay informed and follow the most up to date advice from health authorities. 

If you have these products at home, please: 

• Stop using them immediately. 

• Avoid disturbing or tipping out loose sand. 

• Place the container in a sealed bag. 

• Follow the official steps for safe disposal.

Update to Yirramboi After School Care in 2026

From the start of the 2026 school year, Big Childcare will no longer provide Before and After School Care at our Yirramboi Campus due to very low demand. As a result, the College cannot meet required child safety supervision standards while operating a program on this campus.

Families in Years 5 & 6 who require After School Care will be able to access the OSHC program at our Canowindra Campus. Afternoon Inter-Campus Bus travel will be provided for students booked into OSHC on that day and will be included in the service charge. For bus travel on days without an OSHC booking, a separate booking and fee will apply.

Chartered Buses in 2026

Bus Timetable Update

From the start of the 2026 school year, Sunbury, Rockbank, Melton and Caroline Springs morning bus routes will depart 5 minutes earlier to ensure Senior School students can attend Home Group at 8:30am. Please note that all stops on these four routes will depart 5 minutes earlier in the morning.  

Morning intercampus bus services for students travelling from Canowindra to Yirramboi will also depart 5 minutes earlier, to align with this change. 

Reminder – Chartered Bus Application Form 2026 

 For those families who require Chartered Bus travel in 2026, please ensure you complete the Chartered Bus Application Form 2026 before Friday 21 November 2025. Applications are required to secure a seat on either an Overnewton Chartered or Intercampus Bus service for next year. Payment is not required at the time of booking. Families will be invoiced before each term commences.

Student Withdrawals from the College

As per our enrolment policy, the College requests families to provide one full term's notice if they plan to withdraw their child. We kindly ask that if you are considering transferring your child to another school, you notify us as soon as possible. This early notification will ensure that we can adequately support the students leaving, making a smooth transition for them, and facilitating a seamless process. Our aim is to also support both our current families and prospective families who are eager to join our vibrant community. We have a significant number of students on waitlists for many year levels, and your early notification will greatly aid us in making well-informed decisions regarding enrolment placements.
